Paint correction
What swirls are, and what we take away
Swirls are thousands of fine scratches in the clear coat, mostly from automatic washes and dry towels. Each one throws light back at its own angle, so black paint looks grey and hazy.
Correction levels the clear coat by a few microns, a small fraction of its thickness, until light comes back in one clean line again. We read paint depth with a gauge on every panel, before and after, so there is always clear coat left for the life of the car.

What each window may carry
- Front side windows
- Must let in at least 35% of light, measured with a 7% tolerance, and must not be mirrored or reflective.
- Rear side windows and back glass
- Any darkness, as long as the vehicle has outside mirrors on both sides.
- Windshield
- No tint, except a strip along the top whose bottom edge is at least 29 inches above the driver's seat. The strip may not be red or amber.

Ceramic coating, explained
What a coating really does in the Nevada sun
A ceramic coating is a liquid, silica-based layer that bonds to the clear coat and cures into a hard, glassy shell a few microns thick. It is not paint and it is not film. It is the difference between paint that is exposed and paint that has something between it and the weather.
That matters more here than almost anywhere. Southern Nevada is one of the sunniest places in the country, summer highs pass 100°F for weeks, and a black hood parked on a Henderson driveway gets hot enough to bake anything left on it. UV breaks down clear coat year-round, which is why so many valley cars look chalky on the roof and hood by year five.
Then there is the water. The valley drinks from Lake Mead, and the tap water is hard. Sprinkler overspray or a rinse left to dry in the sun leaves mineral rings that etch into bare clear coat. On a coated panel the same rings sit on top and wipe away.
How long it lasts depends on the car's life, not the label on the bottle. A garaged car washed by hand every two weeks keeps a coating working for years; a car parked outside and run through brush washes wears it out much faster. That is why our warranty comes with a yearly inspection.
What it does
Slows sun fade
A glassy layer over the clear coat takes the UV first, so red and black paint hold their depth for years longer.
Sheds water and dust
Water beads up and runs off, taking the fine desert dust with it. Washes take about half as long.
Resists stains
Bird droppings, bug splatter and sprinkler overspray sit on the coating instead of etching straight into the paint.
What it does not do
Stop rock chips
A coating is microns thick. For gravel off the freeway you need film, which is why we sell both.
Make paint scratch-proof
9H is a pencil-hardness rating, not armour. Automatic brush washes will still scratch a coated car.
Beat hard water left in the sun
Valley tap water is hard. If it dries on the hood at noon it still spots, only far easier to wipe off.

Straight answers
Is auto detailing licensed in Nevada?
No. Nevada does not license auto detailers, so there is no state detailing licence or certification to show you, and a shop that claims one is claiming something that does not exist. What protects you is a written price before we start and our own written warranty on coatings and film.
How long does a ceramic coating last here?
It depends on how the car lives more than on the bottle. A garaged car washed by hand keeps a coating working for years; one parked in the sun and run through brush washes wears it down much faster. Every coating comes with our written warranty and a yearly inspection, and the warranty terms are on paper before you pay the deposit.
How dark can I go on my windows?
Under NRS 484D.440, front side windows must let in at least 35% of light, with a 7% measuring tolerance, and cannot be reflective. Rear side windows and the back glass can be any darkness if the vehicle has outside mirrors on both sides. The windshield can only take a strip along the top, whose bottom edge is at least 29 inches above the driver's seat, and it cannot be red or amber. We will not install film that breaks those rules.
Do I need ceramic coating or paint protection film?
They do different jobs. A coating is a thin glassy layer that fights sun fade, water spots and stains and makes washing easy. Film is a thick, self-healing urethane layer that stops rock chips and sand. Many cars get film on the front and a coating over everything, including the film.
Why do you take a $200 deposit?
Coatings, correction and film take the bay for one to three days, so a deposit holds that time for your car. It comes off the final price, and the final price is agreed in writing after we inspect the paint, before any work starts.
How do I wash the car after a coating?
Wait a week for the first wash. After that, hand wash with a pH-neutral soap in the shade, dry straight away with a clean microfiber towel or a blower so hard water cannot dry on the paint, and skip automatic washes with brushes. We give you a printed care sheet at pickup.
